In support of our nation’s goal to employ 25% of women in strategic leadership positions in government-owned companies, PT Asuransi Kredit Indonesia (Askrindo) with the help of AMBIZ initiated a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program called Askrindo Women Lead.
It was clear from the start of this collaboration that in order for us to get more women into strategic leadership positions, we must reflect to the real-life challenges that most women face in the workplace today. Only by truly understanding these challenges we can form a program that is capable of not only disrupting the status quo, but also ingraining the sense of enrichment, empowerment, and involvement in the process. Embedding the principles of ensuring more inclusivity and less gender discrimination in the design of the program, Askrindo Women Lead is planned to begin with a Program Kick Off, followed by Women Leaders Round Table (a focus group discussion session), Heels on Wheels (gamified skill-development training), The Art of Mentoring (coaching sessions), and Catalyst (change design & implementation program).
After appointing 27 of Askrindo’s brightest and most promising women leaders as the program’s first ever participants, the program began with a Kick Off event held on Monday, March 20th, 2023, at The Hermitage Jakarta, while also broadcasted online for 364 Askrindo employees who came in support of the program. The event was filled with several agendas, starting with Program Introduction session by Arie Meilani Nasution (Kepala Bagian Pengembangan Talenta & Transformasi Budaya PT Askrindo, who also serves as one of the participants of the program), followed by two (2) Opening Remarks session from Priyastomo (Direktur Utama PT Askrindo) and Gita Indriyati (Divisi Pembelajaran & Budaya IFG).
To also enlighten the participants with the methods that will be implemented throughout the program, AMBIZ, Askrindo’s official Learning & Initial Assessment Partner, represented by Rani Soebijantoro (Founder & Chairwoman AMBIZ), was given the opportunity to share the story behind our assessment and how it was designed to help Askrindo Women Lead’s participants to learn more about their capabilities as a person and navigate themselves through the program.
After building the ground understanding of the program and why it was created in the first place, we were ready to welcome the main event of the day, an Interactive Talk Show titled “#EmbraceEquity: Mendorong Peran Kepemimpinan Perempuan Melalui Komunitas Perempuan Askrindo”. Moderated by Askrindo’s very own Kepala Divisi SDM, Zulfakhri, the session dynamically balanced the interactions between four (4) highly experienced professionals from multiple companies all more than ready to share their expertise on women leadership: A.A.A Indira Pratyaksa (Vice President New Ventures of PT Pertamina), Audi Artha Rita (Direktur Operasi PT. Reasuransi Nasional Indonesia), Endang Susilowati (Kepala Divisi Klaim PT. Askrindo), and Kun Wahyu Wardana (Direktur Kepatuhan, SDM, dan MR PT Askrindo).
Following the talk show, an Indonesian jazz group called NonaRia came to perform some of their songs, one of them titled “Jadi Wanita”. Being the last agenda of the day, this performance concluded the Program Kick Off event, therefore officially marking the beginning of these 27 participants’ journey to prepare themselves to become Askrindo’s next leaders.
