Most operating model problems don't announce themselves as operating model problems. They show up as something else: decisions that take too long, functions that can't agree on priorities, a strategy that looks clear at the top but lands inconsistently at the front line. The organisation is working, but against itself.

The root cause is usually that the model was designed for a different version of the business. It made sense when the company was smaller, or before the acquisition, or when the market looked different. Now it's creating friction at every seam, between functions, between the centre and the regions, between what the business says it wants and what the operating structure actually enables.

Redesigning an operating model is straightforward. Making it run is not. Most organisations can produce a new model on paper. The gap is always in the transition, getting people, decisions, and routines to actually operate the new way. That's where we work.
